When my client asked me what I see when people make mistakes in leadership, such a leap forward - 'Sally'. Observation Sally is like watching a train smash in slow motion. It shows the first two errors vertices. Other examples come from closer to home.
Mistake 1: I am right and you're wrong. The 'Sally' is a very passionate and driven leader with the singular goal of support against injustice. There are two main problemswith its focus: the first is that they are so united that they are a Cyclops in a debate. No matter what alternative point of view is presented, if it does not fit his version of the world is simply wrong. He also said his teammate, "if you do not like any other group."
You once said something like you ruin any chance of debate respectful collaboration, they have the ability to tap the collective genius, and to remove potential supporters. Your credibilityturns to ashes as a leader, and a new reputation as a bully jumps in the game.
The second problem with the approach of Sally is that invoking against injustice, helps to perpetuate it. If you press against anything, to help you make it big - what you resist persists, what we focus on expansion.
It would be much better to discuss something. For example, defending the peace (not against the war), the attorney for health (not sickness), lawyer of prosperity and abundance (not againstpoverty). All those wars on drugs, poverty, terrorism - all they do is to extend their keeping focus on what is not wanted, rather than what they want.
Error 2: views from the dashboard targets. Taking The dashboard is your key performance measures that represent the health of your project, your family, bank, and how to keep yours. focus way again, brash and arrogant about the correctness of his spit Sally do her otherLeadership Responsibilities: are hasty decisions without considering the impact on the bottom line. It is now a marketing campaign that is likely to send his organization broke within 12-18 months. If you are looking at the dashboard - its performance indicators of profitability and cash flow - have seen earlier that the exercise could involve (for bathing).
Any choice you make as a leader and as a group have complex effectsnon-linear, but resonate on different aspects of your project or organization. If you take into account a systematic approach to strategic planning, we forget the impact of your design choices. Looking at the dashboard - the development of your performance measures - shows if you need to modify the strategies you have implemented. As the old saying - a butterfly flaps its wings and an earthquake results - it's true: everything is connected and affected by our actions.Using a systems thinking approach, you can see where your actions and interventions will use the best results. Unfortunately, Sally lost the premise.
Error 3: Do not give up leadership fairly quickly. What to do without? All this, if you're running a campaign to lose. For me this lesson was hammered home when I was head of a local community-based organization. I heard that the organization was not his purpose, and if you do not structureand the focus of the group, would simply continue to struggle to undermine the time, energy and goodwill of its volunteer members. I facilitated a discussion around this problem with the management team and many agreed the situation was untenable. But when it came to voting on changes to the structure, the fear of change has prevailed and the group decided to do more to maintain the status quo.
I found myself in front with no back - my team did not follow. It was time tooutput. But the real lesson was this: I have long ago been abandoned. Why? Not because people disagree with my ideas, but for a lot of elementary reason. If I had done a good due diligence before I agreed to lead role, I have discovered a fundamental clash of vision, values and purpose between me and the rest of the group of companies. I discovered too late that I was simply in the wrong strain.
What about you? Do you have an experience in which they are processeda group from the inside? Or maybe you've stopped and started your own group? There are other errors of leadership that you have seen (or created) that would help others to know?
With love and appreciation.
